3rd Annual Summer Bass Study Camp

Summer study for bass students to stay sharp and start next year ahead of the game.

You know the story: your child works hard all year on their musical studies. When you hear them play at the final concert, you can’t believe how far they’ve come and how great they sound.

Then summer comes.

Parents of my students often report that their kids do great all year, then end up losing some of their skills after not studying or practicing all summer. The beginning of the following year is spent working to get back to where they were.

To help you avoid the “summer slide” and allow your student to continue progressing on all the hard work they have put in, I am excited to offer a study opportunity this summer.

Here’s what it includes:

  • 6 one hour private one-on-one lessons during July and August
  • Lessons will be customized to your student’s particular needs and interests and can cover the following:
    • double bass and/or electric bass technique (arco, pizzicato, tone production, shifting, vibrato, position study, intonation)
    • musical styles (classical, jazz, popular music, salsa, bossa nova)
    • music literacy (reading/expressive markings)
    • ear training and theory
    • improvisation
  • Access to me via phone and email all summer for any questions related to your instrument, goals, or musical studies in general
  • Written final feedback and critique based on my 10+ years of experience working with hundreds of strings students
  • Dress rehearsal and practice as the Summer Study Bass Ensemble with other students enrolled in the Summer Bass Study Camp
  • A public performance at the Treehouse Cafe with other students enrolled in the summer study, myself, and a “to be announced” special guest bassist!

Ready to help your student flourish this summer?

I love to help students continue on their musical journey during the summer. Students may work to improve any area of their playing they’re struggling with, or just keep their playing in shape, have fun, and work toward a public performance.

If you’re interested in studying privately during the summer, I’d love to work with you!

Testimonial

Bass summer camp with Mr. Przybylowski was a rewarding experience for our son. The private lessons helped him to greatly improve his technique and sound as well as develop his musical "ear." Under Mr. P's patient and encouraging instruction our son gained much needed confidence. This allowed him to enjoy playing his bass even more.

I knew the camp was worth every penny when our son began picking up his bass just to play for himself, for fun, for the joy of it! He had become inspired.

At the end of the six weeks of lessons, Mr. P organized an informal recital for all the students. There was a special guest - legendary bass player, Mike Boone - who came to play with the students and offer advice and encouragement. It was a wonderful evening for all!

Our son went back to school as a freshman ready to take on the challenge of a high school orchestra with new skills, better sound, and an inspired attitude. He is section leader.

Mr. Przybylowski is an amazingly talented musician who truly enjoys teaching and sharing his love of the bass with his students. I would highly recommend this bass camp for anyone from beginner to advanced bassist. We are so grateful to have been a part of last year's camp. Looking forward to next summer!
