Mark Przybylowski - Double Bassist PhiladelphiaMark Przybylowski is an electric bassist, double bassist, and orchestra teacher who lives and performs in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area.

Mark holds a Music Education degree with a specialization in Jazz Studies, and has studied the bass under Douglas Mapp and Mary Javian. He has also studied jazz with Douglas Mapp, vibraphonist Tony Miceli, and guitarist Steve Giordano. Mark owes a great debt of gratitude for his musical growth to the famous Ortlieb’s Jazz Haus and its weekly jam sessions, where he was informally mentored by Sid Simmons, Mike Boone, and countless other great Philadelphia musicians.

As an educator, Mark has taught bass at Settlement Music School and the Conservatory of Musical Arts. He also taught the bass class and string orchestra at Freire school for the El Sistema inspired program – Play On, Philly!. In addition, he spent three years teaching early childhood music.

Currently, Mark is the Orchestra teacher at a middle school in Washington Township, New Jersey. He performs regularly with Ensemble Novo, a group dedicated to performing the music of Brazil, and freelances in the area. He hopes to continue exploring sound, composing, performing, and teaching.
