I want to help you!
I am a double bassist and educator with 16+ years of experience teaching privately and as an orchestra director to students from elementary, middle school, and high school.
I've also played professionally as a jazz musician - performing and gigging in the Philadelphia and NJ tristate area with many great musicians including Larry McKenna, John Swana, Sid Simmons, and many more. I've performed at notable venues such as Ortlieb's Jazzhaus, Chris' Jazz Cafe, Time Restaurant, Longwood Gardens, The Jazz Standard (NYC), and more.
I've spent my career bridging two musical worlds: helping students as a string educator and the creative freedom of jazz and other styles.
I created the Modern Strings Collective because I saw a gap - many students learn technique and ensemble playing in school, but rarely get to explore improvisation and other styles in a structured and supportive way.
My goal is to help you become a more versatile, creative, and expressive bassist and help you reach your goals.
Sincerely,
Mark Przybylowski
